I want you to know that you are the one empowering your problems by overly thinking about them. Problems exist because the solution is available and waiting to be discovered. The problem you admit is the problem you strengthen.
Here are ways to fix your problems:
Start your day with a ritual. In the African culture, especially the Yoruba, we were told that our head was to be served like a God. In 1900, whenever a Yoruba man wakes up, he performs a ritual. The ritual is performed immediately after he or she wakes up. The ritual comprises words and items like kola nut, water and oil; the day is spoken to. I am not saying you should do this, but I am trying to explain what I mean by ritual in my own tradition.
The ritual I want to introduce to you is the act of religiously following a morning ritual. Be it reading, Journaling, exercising, meditation, or doing yoga. This ritual helps you take charge of the day ahead with a degree of confidence. The ritual gives vitality and enhances your self-esteem.
Learn to apply the 5 minutes rule. This is an act of challenging yourself to try to perform any task that you want to do in 5 minutes. These habits help you avoid cluttering up the task. In applying the 5 minutes rule, you get to avoid procrastination, and you get your task easily done.
Make it a habit to take a break. All work and no rest lead to no productivity. The body and mind need rest every time. A productive mind is a mind that has adequate rest. Taking rest at appropriate intervals will help you prevent burnout, regain energy levels, boost immunity, enhance focus and keep you in a more positive mood.
Have a list of activities that you must do every day. If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail. This list should be duplicated and placed in strategic places around the house or workplace so that you will do all that you have written down.
There is a 70% assurance that anything written down will be implemented. A goal that is put to writing is 30% executed. So, write down all you want to do in the course of the day. This will help make you complete all the tasks for the day. At the end of the day, you will be surprised at how much you were able to do.
The last ritual is to detox your phone. The phone is everyone’s companion these days. What a best friend or spouse of 20 years in marriage does not know about his or her partner, their phone knows. I highly recommend you take time off the use of your phone because of the urge to surf the internet.
On this note, I want to implore you to start taking your life seriously. Time truly waits for no one, and the sooner you start planning your day-to-day activities, the better your life becomes.
